Ian is an Associate Director and Market Leader with Steer’s North American Advisory Team. Ian is experienced in transport business operations, development strategy and financial analysis. Ian is an expert in transportation business analysis with a focus on aviation and parking, developing complex financial models to evaluate and provide technical due diligence on airport operations. Ian has supported airports and other transport providers with commercial agreements, revenue and cost forecasting, business case analysis and strategic reviews of capital programs, operations and concessions programs.

Ian’s work has included developing business plans and corresponding financial models, including revenue and cost forecasts, for transport projects ranging from small scale private developments to multi-billion-dollar capital investment programs such as airport terminals and ground transportation centers. He has experience working with financial advisors and airport managers to incorporate risk evaluation and management into business analysis and development plans. He is familiar with analyzing traffic forecasts, operating and financial models and digital transformation plans in addition to collaborating with banks, rating agencies and providers of private finance to develop sustainable and well-reasoned business cases across the airport campus.

Prior to joining Steer in 2017, Ian held roles at the City of Boston, Northeastern University and consulting firm ICF. Ian has a Bachelor’s in Political Science and International Affairs and a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) with a concentration in corporate finance.
