Peter has over 30 years’ experience in the aviation sector and broader transport experience covering rail and other modes. He is an expert in demand, revenue and operating cost forecasting, economic regulation, competition policy, economic impact assessment and aviation decarbonisation strategies. His expertise covers operational, strategic and policy issues as part of studies for governments, regulators, investors and transport operators.
Peter started his career at British Airways covering both commercial and operational roles. Following a few years in telecommunications, he returned to transport as a consultant, joining Steer in 2006. Peter’s experience at Steer includes aviation policy studies and transactions across five continents, with clients including a range of infrastructure investors, international finance institutions, airport operators, aviation industry associations, environmental groups, aviation policy regulators, competition authorities, governments and supranational bodies.
Recent studies include airline competition cases relating to the merger between Korean Air and Asiana, a study into the feasibility of rolling out hydrogen- and electrically powered aircraft, an airport transaction in West Africa and a policy study into the funding of Sustainable Aviation Fuel in Europe.
Peter’s qualifications include a BA in Physics and Philosophy, an MSc in Operational Research and a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA).
